20th session of
the National Children’s Science
Congress - A programme of NCSTC-DST, Govt. of
India is being
organized by NCSTC-Network
throughout the nation and coordinated by Voluntary Institute for
Community Applied Science – VICAS in Uttar Pradesh, hosted by B.H.U. Varanasi on 27-31 Dec 2012.The Focal theme
of the 20th NCSC is “ Energy: Explore, Harness & Conserve”.
NCSC
is aimed at providing a platform to the young
minds where they
can share their
local area studies using
the method of
science on issues related to
science and technology.
Their activities start at the
Block/district level Science Congress
and after screening they come to state level after
evaluation they participate
at the National Level.
The
program helps building scientific temperament among the
children as well
as in teachers / parents and community
in addressing their day to
day problems.
About
six hundred-odd children drawn
from all the
states and Union territories will be participating and presenting
their local area
study/ project reports in
the congress. We are expecting some
fraternal delegates from ASEAN countries also.
